Installing Without CD/DVD

Installing BinToo-2007.1 from otherDistros.
Without CD/DVD-ROM/RW
Why ?
Becuse you may don't have CD/DVD drive, or you may don't need to waste a Blank CD/DVD :) , another good reason is that the InstallCD/DVD hangs when booting due to some uncommon hardware or any other problem you may face, another reason that you need to do some thing other than watching the long installation process while installing.

How ?

  • First you should have a working >=2.6.17 linux system with bash, ncurses and dialog installed (most Distros. contains them) , then you will need the install script and DVD iso file.
  • put the ISO file on the root of any partition you have "NTFS, EXT, Reiser" but not FAT16/32 .
  • copy the install script to /usr/bin/setup of the current working system
  • run "setup" to start the installation.

This is the install script that you need. http://ftp-osl.osuosl.org/pub/bintoo/2007.1/setup
Be sure that it is executable or "# chmod +x /usr/bin/setup"

Thats all now & if remembered any new things, sure i'll make a new post.
