Bintoo 2007.3 install trouble

Hi group,

I have been trying to install to install BinToo 2007.3 after
failing with Gentoo 2006.0 and 2007.1.
I noticed several problems with the install:
1) the install login header reference 2007.1 and not 2007.3
2) The install always formats the target, should be an option.
3) The install failed on a full install with a kernel page exception
4) Limits you to the first disk it finds, no USB option if IDE is found.
5) The install should be broken down into phases to assist in a restart from an
error.
6) Exiting the install always reboots. No recovery options.
7) Minimal install failed, no log found.
8) The fluxbox and startx options on install don't work.
9) Again, no hard log.

I'm going to try it again! For the 3rd time.

what's your PC

What's your PC specification ?, i remember that i had many troubles installing BinToo on 2 PCs before one of them had a bad memory stick and the other had problems with data & power cables .

if your PC is assembled like most Desktops in Egypt for example be sure that every thing is working fine.

i know that the install script tells that it's 2007.1 not 2007.3 because i forget to update this line.

the 2007.3 installation media - based on slax - does not contain any graphical desktops (fluxbox, startx) to reduce the CD size and to force the user not to run any other applications because doing so will increase installation time and in many cases the installation will never end specially if you start any graphical Desktop.

for the install process i'll start a new install system which will implement some of you suggestions.

and finally many thanks for your interest in BinToo and i'm sorry if it caused you some problems and don't forget that i'm doing all of this project tasks alone :( till now .
